It has been 6 months that I have been shooting street photography, I was just taking some travel photographs and portraits during the past three years. I can tell that I've already been in various different states of mind about the type of images I am aiming at. At the beginning I was excited about shooting people in the face from very close, trying to make them look into the camera and catch their raw attitudes or "hidden beauty", influenced mostly by Garry Winogrand and Bruce Gilden.
Quickly I started trying to frame my pictures differently by using the background as a important element of the composition.
The shadows also became very interesting to me as they bring a very special mood into the photographs if you use them carefully. I particularly enjoy pictures with large black area and some few highlighted details.
The latest thing I'm intrested into trying is having several layers within one image. The point is adding several stories on the same picture in order to make it more interesting, with more depth. One of the master in this style is Alex Webb who create stunning images.
I guess in the future I am going to mix all these different techniques, and hopefully find new ones, in order to find my own style as I haven't really define it yet. This set of photographs is only in Black and white as it is easier to understand the process, but of course I'm doing it in color as well.
